Taking part in an activity that drives you to your personal physical boundaries helps bring a level of comfort and peace to my general well-being. The aspect of being challenged physically is not just stimulating but leaves you with the feeling of accomplishment. While some may find that feeling of accomplishment in other things, for me to feel truly accomplished; I have to have pushed my physical boundaries to the point where I question whether I am capable or not. I find this feeling most when I am backcountry skiing or ski mountaineering.
